This is awesome news, hopefully theyll sign all the good Pride fighters that arent yet signed. I better see Sokoudjou in there.
cant wait for fedor vs couture, it will happen next year for sure
I so came here to post that
M1 is the new Pride.
I'm tired of UFC's shitty cage rules.
Well, you're only almost 3 hours late
I tired of seeing so much man hugging in the cage. Getting back to the craziness of Pride will be Maybe CroCop will go over to M-1 so he can start throwing bombs in the ring again, instead of worrying about getting owned in the cage
oh no what is Randy going to do?
I'm not sure if or when Dana's phone will ring....
All that greco-roman bear hugging bullshit is just a scheme for dana white to allow his fights to run longer than need be so the average ticketholder layperson doesn't complain about quick KO fights that last only a few seconds. But above all, I'm sick of hearing Goldberg's shitty commentating and Bruce Buffer's goddamn annoying voice.
But back on topic, I'm excited for M1. I hope to see a good majority of ex-Pride fighters join this fight organization.
Cage Fighting Championships (CFC) Spokesperson Crawford Grimsley announced today, “The CFC will put up a $3,000,000 purse to bring the Couture vs Emelianenko fight to Pay-Per-View. $1,000,000 will be guaranteed to each fighter while the winner takes home an additional cool million, making this the largest single purse for any one MMA fight.”
Would you fight Randy Couture if given the chance?
Yes, I want to fight Randy. He is the UFC Champion regardless of his resignation.– he is the second best fighter in the world (laughing). No, I have a great deal of respect for Randy. He is a great champion and a great ambassador for the sport. The fans deserve to see this fight and to not wait years for it to happen. I see no reason why I shouldn’t be able to fight Randy by the end of 2008. It is good for the fans, good for the sport, and good for the fighters.
I looked up Sibling Entertainment Group and they only have a Market Cap of $16.34 million. That means it would only cost Zuffa a little over $8 million to become a controlling shareholder. If I were Zuffa's CFO, I'd be getting out the checkbook. I hope Brian Patton knows how to leverage up M-1 in a hurry!
Still, if the UFC wants Fedor, they can essentially have his contract for $8mm.
Even better then,
1) Spend $8mm and get Fedor Contract
2) Sign Randy to M-1 to Fight Fedor
3) Cash in on biggest fight in MMA history
4) Sell off assets of Sibling Entertainment Group and M-1
I'd do it if I had $8mm, it looks like an easy profit making transaction
