what do you guys do with your back foot when you do lunges?

i tried doing em the other day before squats to warmup and it kills my toes on the back foot :hsugh: basically limits me doing lunges :coolugh:

do I need to step super far out or something?

What the hell are you talking about? Like when you bend your toes it hurts? Are they just not flexible? How far are you stepping out?

Yep toe bending hurts - much more in chucks than my regular shoes :dunno:

If I step really far I get like 90% of my weight on the front so it doesn't bug me as much but then it's awkwardly far :o

Yeah, weird. Maybe do some, um... toe stretches? I dunno. You could always try to roll your foot up on your tips of your toes rather than bending them maybe? Or maybe you could substitute single leg squats so that your rear leg is supported rather than bending your toes?

    Or toe amputation. :o

how far forward are you stepping?

i bend my toes on my back foot and get to where my back knee is almost touching the ground... then drive off of my front heel and shift my weight to the back leg to straighten up - in other words, i would not be able to do lunges if i had 90% of the weight on my front leg... i see me pushing off my front leg and my back leg buckling, resulting in the person next to me catching my barbell in the abdomen

it may just be a padding issue in the chucks, though... try barefoot?
