There is a local car forum in my area at my college and someone said they blew their LS6 engine last night while riding around.

He has reported some problems about clanking before he blew it up.

He said it knocked a couple of times before it blew last night.

He says he has never used NO2...... anyone else hear of something like this..... He "might" have been bouncing off the rev limiter right before it actaully blew that trying to do a burnout in a parking lot. I'm sorta confused can that really happen?

A knock that got worse for 10,000 miles as he kept driving it and it died after a burn out (probaly after many from how it sounds).

Sounds like your friend drove his 346 5.7 into the ground.

Meaning he bounced of the rev limiter in a big way. Sounds like his fault :dunno:

the knocking could have also been a spun bearing, or it could have been a loose pickup for the oil (although I figured those were welded in) ... if so, anything could have caused the engine to do that if he was being a stupid fuck and din't get the engine gone through ...

take the valve covers off and look for bronze dust everywhere

And also someone told me he was spraying that night....... he had about 10k on the motor. And the GM dealer he bought it from gave him a new motor.

I never understood this. I've never wanted to win a race bad enough to no lift the damn thing. Winning a street race isn't worth snapping shift forks, syncros, and/or the fucking motor.
