my friend has a 98 m6 z28 with 4.10's a good sized cam, headers, and other supporting bolt ons. Mixed driving with a good amount of full throttle driving nets him about 15 mpg. If you baby it, it will be kind to your wallet.

Well my calucations are in Litres so you will need to conver to Galons.

    3.46 Diff, and tuned.
    Highway in 6th (1400rpm) 8.5L per 100kms.
    Around the street 15 - 16l per 100kms, but that is 3 - 4,000 changes.

dad's z06 would get up to 18 or 19 on highway trips. if you are able to get more than that you must really drive like a pussy :dunno:

Truthfully, if you are considering buying an ls1 just for the mileage increase, you should just keep the charger. You could add efi and make a nice jump in driveability and all that.

    Highway in 6th (1400rpm) 2.25 gallons per 62.14 miles = 27.62 MPG
    Around the street 3.96 - 4.23 gallons per 62.14 miles = 14.69 MPG

That was way too much work :eek3:

    i was going to,

but mopar is one the hardest genres of cars to add new tech to.. a GM is all bolt on and plug and play. my orginal idea was to get a 5.9 out a Ram and match it to the T56 in the charger and just drive it.. but the cost for building a mopar is ungodly and im kinda tired of drving a hardcore muscle car, ive been drving it for 6 years and im ready to puss out for alil bit an have AC and a warrenty..

im considering a '04 GTO they are pretty cheep now(cheep compared to 36k) becasue everyone traded them in for the '05. i just got more hours at work and im looking into a higher paying job asap, ill have abou 3k in a month or so and i plan on saving up 5k for a down.

My LS1 use to get 200 miles to a tank. Modded and a lot of driving. I filled it up like twice a week. 93 octane. Sometimes 110 octane :naughty:

:squint: dude read the rest of this topic, im going to save money driving a LS1 or LS6 i can afford gas now, but i dont have a car payment .. so im adding up the #'s for the car, insureance, gas, monthy payment, .. and then other stuff food, rent, bills... and tryn to get a over how much i would need to make amonth to drive a 04 GTO and have my bills and a new rent... yes its as confusing as it sounds but ill get it.

Takes me somewhere betwene 28-33 dollars to fill it up and a tank will last me a week depending on how I drive it. Shifting at 2k, and romping on it i can get 300 miles out of a tank. And thats with mixed driving.

I average 21.4 mpg stop and go and not sure on the highway... i spend around 150-175 a month on gas. I drive a 2002 Pontiac Trans Am w/ an auto.

  25. I've seen 30+ w/ our ls1 A4 on long road trips, avg is about 23-25 though
