LS1 Crew v. Exhaust.

    School me on the Hooker Aero Chamber catback. Anyone running it? If so, what kind of Y-Pipe?

    I went from Hooker Longtubes + O/R Y + Flowmaster muffler with stock catback, which sounded incredibly mean and raw, to the same headers with Random Tech cats and a Hooker Aerochamber, and it sounds a lot better to me. The car is actually faster, believe it or not. LS1 crew doesn't lie when it says that Flowmaster robs performance. But I love the catback I have now. It's one of those systems that's quiet at idle and cruise but sounds mean at WOT. I'm much more inclined to drive the car now because of the reduced obnoxiousness and more refined sound. It is also a cheap system, which is always a plus.

    i looked at the hooker setup before getting a gmmg to go with my qtp headers. wouldnt change a thing with my setup, love the sound
     
  7. cats or not? I've heard that setup can be kinda harsh without cats

    had cats, but i ditched them since i kept having the cats go bad on me and got sick of replacing them. i instead put a borla xr-1 bullet muffler in the I pipe and that cut back the rasp that was there from removing the cats. :bigthumb:

    I have long tubes, ORY and slowmaster. I actually kinda dig it but there is better. The wifes WS6 has Borla and I love it
