I just bought one and compared to my surefire, it is about the same brightness. 15.97. Has 6 leds, uses a 3 AAA batteries.

Anyone have one of these, really cheap alternative to the surefire, I have one and love it now.

    No. Okay? No.
A cluster of 5mm LEDs is never an alternative to a Surefire. For an LED to compete with a lithium powered incan, it has to be at least a Luxeon.

i understand its not a combat proven light, but its also a very useful and great flashlight for car, garage, etc... If you can;t afford 5 combat proven lights, its nice to have something in every location. its far better than no light

Would you use or trust this light to be worthy as a carry self defense light or would you only use it for various tasks around home or the shop?

honestly i would trust it in a home defense situation, Would i go into war with only this light? No. But thats just me and for 16 bucks you can;t go wrong.

Luckily no one here is going into war, and if they are, you get an army issued light. Funny as hell how people will pay 200 for a "combat proven" light and will never be in combat.

I've never payed $200 for a flashlight, but I'd rather pay extra for something I know will last me a lifetime rather than go cheap and get something that'll need to be replaced within a few years.

I'd rather pay 16 bucks for something that will last a few years because something better wil be out by then ;)

Also won't make me upset if it gets lost or stolen.
If I was a cop or a soldier though, then I would get something a little more nicer but for around the house , in my briefcase and in a glovebox those would work just fine for me.

I think I'll go pick up a few of them this afternoon. I could use a couple of good lights that run off of AAAs :o. Every AAA flashlight in my house is about worthless.

What difference does it make if I spend $2000 on one nice gun..and you spend $2000 on a bunch of shitty guns?
