I'm only 22 and have lower back pain. People have told me its probably because of a weak core. What can be done on an exercise ball to possibly help my back pain?

I'm 22 and have a bent spine and had low back pain problems for years, still do from time to time. What my physical trainer had me do was stretch every day and that got rid of most of the problem. The stretching focused on my hip abductors, gluts, and such.

I was told I had lower back pain because of tight hamstrings. Stretching helps that too.

Deadlifts...start light and keep a good eye on your form. I used to have all sorts of lower back pain until I started deadlifting.

    exercising a strained muscle ftl.
go light with squats and stretch your legs a couple times a day and dont DL and you should be good. once the pain goes away train normally.

if any of these exercises look like they won't cause any pain, give them a try. basically it will make your hips more mobile, therefore when you're moving around and picking stuff up in every day life you can use better form because of better flexibility. If you're stiff in your legs and hips then you're likely to round your lower back when you should be arching it instead.

I had all kinds of lower back pain and starting with light deadlifts worked wonders for me.

He never said anything about having a strained muscle. If deadlifts aren't ok, then squats are out of the picture as well.

 never pretend like you know what you're talking about

My lower back was real fucked until I started doing BB goodmornings. Start with just the bar and high reps, and SLOWLY work your way up. I went from doing the bar for 15-20 reps to doing 225 for a few reps with perfect form. Oh, and when you do start doing it with any weight, get a GOOD belt (Inzer).

I've noticed that GM's have made it easier for me to keep my thoracic spine straight throughout the day and when lifting.

cliffnotes: foam rolling, hip mobility drills, and light weight lower back movements such as deadlifts, controlled bodyweight squats, and possibly goodmornings, combined with a good flexibility program and good nutrition.
