    title says it all
not a horrible pain but a pinching on the right side for two days after
I have no problem with body weight stuff obviously
    any advice etc
I need to be able to lift heavy and dont want back issues creeping up later or getting worse

maybe its form, but who do i consult about that - I am in DC no powerlifting gyms and the personal trainers I have spoke to don't inspire confidence

I think it's form. I had that same pain when I first did dl's. Then I fixed my form.

You just starting out? Yeah it's probably form.

I know when I first started squats and deads it would feel like my glutes were ripping apart. Then I did some core training. Starting off light. Light good mornings, light squats and deads, to get the muscles used to the new lifting.

As long as it's not real injury pain, then you should be able to work up to it. Don't expect it to happen overnight. Special if you've never done similar before.

Oh, and practice makes perfect. Read up on DL form and use some light weights to practice it.
