I know the Tamron is faster but I've never used it in a club for shooting. I used to use my kit lens and it performed rather well...sooo is it safe to assume the tamron will do just as well? :wiggle: Thanks for the input.

Tamron will be better, but DO NOT expect great ... or even goodness. Tamron low-light focusing is horrible.

well considering I did rather well with the lens kit anything better is good for me. The flash will help me focus anyways :coold:

Don't get me wrong. I have made plenty of good photos with mine, but it lacks severely.

well what lens, while on subject, would be great in low light performance in the same focal range?

its fine, as long as you have your flash helping you assist the focus.

DRAG THE SHUTTER for club shots.

16-35 L is really the best low-light zoom.

But sucks for nightclubs IMHO due to its seriously soft corners and horrible distortion. But i have only had version I of the lens, i hear version 2 is much better.
