Is there any disadvantage when getting an apple refurb, rather than new?

Little, if any. Most people report receiving their refurbs in as-new condition. It comes in a brown box as opposed to the flashy white one. It also has a new serial with reman. marked on it.

That's the only negative I see, in terms of reselling, but that's just me. I go through computers quickly and if I was on say, ebay, I try to stay away from refurbs.

Anyways, like new quality, one year warranty, and some extra ching in your pocket...whats not to like.

I almost bought my 24" refurb'd but the total was $1880 and I could justify $180, over the $1699, to get it brand new.

    Good luck :wavey:

I went refurb on the 15inch MBP. Good deal for me, I will admit that I bought a Core Duo after the Core 2 Duos came out, but its not that big of a deal for me, AND I saved 900 dollars (I got the middle version Macbook Pro for 1599, after shipping and apple care it was 2000). The big thing that swayed me were the 256MB Vram

I almost went with a 15" MBP but I really wanted super portability. I my 1.33 ibook had enough power so the macbook should be fine.

When I ordered mine it said it would take 5-7 days to ship and would be here by the 29th.

But I don't have 1gb of ram :hs:
