Ok you have to admit that the storylines are suprisingly similar....for example:

Frodo/Neo is the "chosen one" who must destroy the "evil" ring/source.
Sam/Trinity is the one that "loves" Frodo/Neo and will go to great lengths to protect him, even die for him.
The "wise" all knowing protector. He above all believes in Frodo/Neo, and is the one that gave him his "mission"

    enough said.......

I won't argue that the films aren't very different, because they are. LOTR has much better acting and emotion in it, as the martix is much more straight forward and less emotional. However the hero conquering evil plot seems quite similar between the films. :wiggle:

Yes, the whole "Hero conquers evil" storyline is quite new and original. I've never seen it before.

Sam doesn't love Frodo as Trinity would love Neo. More as a brother, or close friend, not a lover.

  7. except the matrix makes you wonder wtf happened after seeing it
LotR (and books) go into great detail explaining almost anything you would want to know about. There is also like 200 pages of history and ect at the end of book 3.

    and a big difference
    matrix kinda sucked
    lotr owned

:werd: Matrix started out good, and went downhill. LOTR started out great and got better :)

:big grin: But at least LOTR was worth paying $ to go see in theaters. Matrix and Matrix Reloaded, yes, but not Revolutions

lotr is way better than matrix.
Matrix was too complicated while lotr is more straight forward.
    LOTR owns matrix
