no offense but I prefer working out alone. I put on my music and get into my little zone. I find people distracting. The only time its nice to have a parter is for a spot. I'm always eeking out that last rep, and its a different mindset without a partner, cause you HAVE to get that last one up.....atleast thats how I think about it.

i enjoy working out sometimes alone too, but i mean he was 3 yrs older than me im 18 he is 21 so he has some strength advantage on me but that just pushed me harder....and also he is going in to be a navy seal so he busts his ass so it was good working out with him...when i would just want to get the last one up he would push me to do another one and more

i think its more important do be able to do those extra reps on your own without any outside motivation......I mean you're BBing for yourself not for others right?

I like having a partner because it creates a healthy, competitive atmosphere. Plus they're always there for the spot... unless a hot chick walks by, then I'm fucked!

Everyone who says that no partner is better has never had a good partner or been to a good gym.

I agree. I just pull that random guy to spot me and just the fact that he's there spotting helps me squeeze out 1 or 2 on my max.

If you want to be a succesful Bodybuilder you need a training partner...

I've never really needed a spot for anything, but lifting with the same group of guys all the time creates competition and makes it a lot more enjoyable.

What would I need a spotter for? The classic lifts and pulls don't require spots, and it's rather simple to drop the weight in either a back, front or snatch squat. It's not like I do a lot of BB bench pressing.
