I've heard its bad to gain/lose weight at a pace faster than 1-2 lbs per week. Why would losing weight to fast be a bad thing? Wouldn't it be good to lose weight fast if your eating properly. I have lost 10 lbs in 1.5 weeks. Assuming 4-5 lbs of water weight loss, 1 lb of muscle gain (maybe)...thats still losing about 6 lbs of lose in a week and a half. Is this bad...I started about 40 lbs over weight....and trust me im eating plenty..but clean.

because losing muscle is looked down upon.

when you get serious and start to try and put on muscle you will understand why you want to lose as little as possible.

after 1.5 weeks, i doubt you've really gained any muscle... sorry to be danny downer, but it takes a little while longer than that, esp. if you're eating below maintenance calories

and losing weight too fast is subjective... if a 350 lb. person loses 10 lbs. in a week, that's not too fast, but if someone who only weighs 180 does...

you're probably only going to gain max 1-2lbs of lean muscle a month if you're not experience noob gains or are extremely dedicated and have a very good diet
