Hello, I'm overweight (and I know it :bigthumb:), and I'm looking to lose some pounds. So far, I haven't changed my diet (summer diet - changes when school comes back):

    breakfast - usually nothing
lunch - frozen food crap, sometimes pizza if im at a friends house or an airsoft/lan party
dinner - not much anything my mom makes

I just started to run 1-2 miles on the treadmill a day.

I know both areas need work.

I don't really want to take pills or anything, seeing as i hate drugs.

could anyone give me basic tips and advice on running, or should i get some weights, or crunches, etc., i'd really appreciate it ;)

    thanks for you help

clean up your diet and just stay generally active and you should see your bodyfat decrease some. If that doesn't work fast enough then count calories, etc. This means eating consistently and sticking to healthier foods.

Running is great, too, keep that up but preferably only three times a week as opposed to every day. On days off you can just go for long walks for 30+ mins to burn cals and be active. If you want you can throw in pull ups and push ups and definitely crunches. That would help burn calories and gain you some strength and muscle.

If you want to look great with your clothes off, break out the weights or get a gym membership.

i should clean up my diet
run 3-4 days a week, around 2 miles?
other days i should do walks, with pushups and crunches.

you dont want to lose pounds too quickly, you want to make sure your body can adjust. no more than 1lb a wk (actually 1lb/2wks is recommended) and 45min of moderate cardio 5x/wk. thats what i did, and i cant complain. as far as eating, read the stickies. they can tell you a lot more than anyone can or will in here.

quickly does not equal best. do it for the long term, change your lifestyle, and do something you'll stick with. losing 20 lbs now is worthless if you gain 30 lbs back in 3 months.

I get the feeling that quickly in your scenario would mean quickly gained...

I work with a guy that does this about twice a year. Will keto it for 6 weeks, lose 10-20 lbs, then go right back to normal lifestyle. Gain 30 lbs back, and back to doing it again. Vicious cycle, and worthless.

You're fat and out of shape, running probably wont last long if you even make yourself do it. Walk more. Walk your dog, get your fat ass moving.

Eat more often, always eat breakfast too. Smaller meals, less calories. Dieting is a lifetime thing, dont be like the fucking morons who do fad diets and lose weight just to put it back on. Of course "the weight comes back as soon as you stop" :ugh: It's because you stopped eating healthy you fucking douchebags.

You see it's people like you who are the reason people never stick with getting into better shape. You're way too nice and supportive and it doesn't challenge them enough. You fucking pansy, man up.

i'm guessing that their last words were more like
"get off me I can't breathe" or at least a very inaudible muffled version of that.
