Lose abdominal fat while still gaining mass everywhere else?

    I just started to work out again and I was wondering how can I lose my lower abdominal fat. I'm consider a skinny guy, but just have this layer of abdominal fat that is covering up my abs. Would two days of running while three days of weight lifting help to burn that fat away?


    Btw i'm starting to eating low fat yogurt for snack and low fat cottage cheese for breakfast. Should I buy non fat instead?

    From what I can gather (I'm also a skinny noob so someone should correct me if I'm wrong), you can only lose fat over your entire body and not in one place. It's probably best for us to just bulk and work our asses off.

    I plan on doing 20-30 mins of cardio on my 3 days off along with my 3 day split. I was on the treadmill yesterday and already hit my target heart rate after 5 minutes of walking at 2.5MPH and 5 minutes of jogging at 6.5 MPH. :ugh:

    figure out your maintenance calories and divide that number by 6. The quotient is how many calories you should be taking in to lose lower abdominal fat. It is also generally advised to do at least 4.5 hours of cardio per day. Note that for your upper abdominal fat you should divide your maintenance calories by 4, not 6.

    Been searching online last night and the only thing I could find is do more cardio/arobics, but then form what I read.. cardio can decrease muscle mass which something I don't want, especially when I'm already light weight enough.
