I keep seeing banner ads on the internet for this movie but I didn't know what was up with it. Well I was checking out stuff on ifilm.com today, and they have a web-video thingy for it up on the site. Looks pretty damn cool.

One of my friends grew up in SoCal in that time period and filmed some of the footage in the documentary.
And he has met some of the actors in the new movie. I think I will still prefer the documentary.

Some friends of mine have seen the Documentary and told me it's really good. It will be cool to see them take an interesting documentary and put time, money and some big name actors into it. Should be worth checking out, and probably will have some badass surfing and skating shots.

Ripoff of "Dogtown and Z-Boys" documentary that came out a couple years ago.

Not a ripoff of it at all, the people who made the documentary are collaborating with the movie people. It's really like an "advancement" of the story/film.

Just came across a ton of cool pics from the movie today:

Although the movie looks cool, I could do without a movie which is going to double the skater population.

i actually think it looks great...stacy peralta wrote it and tony alva trained all the skaters in the film...meaning: the movie is going to be genuine...and will probably have true stuff in it that the documentary didn't. the idea that these guys made skateboarding into what it is today is pretty damn cool. i'm not a big skateboarder but i'm still definitely checking this one out.

This is one that I'd definitely like to see in the theaters. I bet seeing a lot of the cool skating and hearing the soundtrack will be even better in a theater.

Personally I didn't think it looked bad at all from the previews, the preview I saw before Kung Fu Hustle was really good.

    I love the "Dogtown & Z-Boys" documentary.
It'll be interesting to see what exposure that history gets with "Lords of Dogtown"...

So it hits theaters today...i'm pumped to see it tonight after work. A friend of mine got to see the sneak preview on wednesday night and said it was just as good, if not better than the documentary. awesome news! I  stacy peralta and the zboys.
