Yesterday at my hockey game I got hit open ice and fell right on my tailbone, in the one place my pants didn't have any padding. I can barely walk and can't apply ANY pressure at all to it, the pain is very extreme and intense, I can't bend down, sleeping is impossible because there is not any position I can get in that doesn't cause pain, when I took a shit the pain was just incredibly horrible.

Everything i've read says it takes several weeks to months for a tailbone injury to heal, WTF??????????????? I can't deal with this shit for several weeks to months!!!

I'm going to a doctor today, hopefully i'll get some pain medication or something. I looked at my ass in the mirror, and the area where my tailbone is is COMPLETELY black and blue, I can't even gently touch the skin the area is so tender.

I can't even do half of one situp now because the pain is so intense on my tailbone, it's a very sharp pain that radiates throughout my whole body. I was doing really well on my 3 mile run time really improving well in all areas of the PFT.... i'm really angry that this happened, if I can't run or do situps or anything that I need to do for a few weeks, i'm going to be extremely pissed.

Even just bending over causes a lot of pain in my tailbone, I don't know how i'm going to be able to go the gym, leg exercises are totally out of the question and for upper body stuff, I don't even think i'd be able to bend down and pickup the weights, or be able to do anything lying/sitting on a bench.

    FUCKING SHIT

    I hope so :wtc:

Yeah, I play in a full contact beer league.

The last time I missed a week and a half of PT'ing and working out, my numbers went down a ton and it took me 2-3 weeks to get back to where I was. :hsd:

you might have fractured your tailbone. I've known a few people that this happened to.

    get it checked out

It sounds like you just hurt a lot of muscles.

You'll probably be fine within 2 weeks or so.

It is VERY critical now though that you keep your protein level HIGH. At least 1.3 grams per pound of bodyweight a day.

I know you know your nutrition, but don't slack on it at all.

I went to the doctor today, had xrays and no fractures or breaks which is good... and he said I should be 100% in about 1.5-2 weeks just like you guys said.

I can still go to the gym, but cant do any leg stuff, cant do anything seated or lying on a bench, cant do anything where im bent over, etc.... but I can at least still do pullups . Basically I can only do things that are standing.

And thanks for the reminder to keep my protein intake high, I actually cut back a little bit on protein over the past 24 hours and was planning on keeping it that way until I was able to hit the gym and start running again when I was 100%, but now i'll make sure to get my full daily intake.

Definitely. It is much more critical that you keep the intake high now since you are limited in your abilities to exercise. That way you'll retain as much strength as you can since you can't work out.

You know how it is! :)

During basic I went running down the stairs during a snow storm and busted my ass. Hurt like hell for weeks, but the DI told us not to run so I never said anything. Couple years later had to have a pelvic X-ray after a bike wreck, and the Doc asked me when I broke my tailbone. :eek3:

It's a lot better now, I started running again last night without any problems, but it still hurts like a motherfucker when I try and do crunches.

I had some kid tell me the other day he couldn't do pushups because of a bone bruise on his palm. I was 2 seconds away from killing him. Only thing that kept me from doing it was the fact that I just had shoulder surgery. :hs:
