Under $950. A local shop's charging people $1500 for a similar machine, ready built. :mamoru:

    Peripherals will come later.

What's the price on that machine once you're done buying Windows and Office and Photoshop?

Already have copies of all of that. Of course I'll end up spending another $300-$500 on a new LCD and keyboard/mouse/etc. :o

I didn't think it was ugly -- it's more understated than the others I've seen so far.

aesthetics aside, it does have good airflow and lots of drive bays, which are ftw
just curious why you picked that instead of the 900

I took a look at the 900 and personally didn't see much of a difference (other than price). Airflow and drive bay space are good. I got to see a working model with everything put together and running.

I'll look at a couple of mobos and another PSU -- but it's not like I'm gonna do SLI or anything like that anytime soon. :o

What's wrong with the LCD you got? If it's only a couple of years old, check online and see if you can score a second identical one for cheap, and roll with dual monitors.

Alternately, buy an amazing LCD this time around so you can be satisfied using it for the next ten years.
