There are some pretty knowledgeable photogs in this forum. Why don't you start by telling us about how much you want to spend, what you want to photograph, what lenses you have and what types of lenses you would be looking to purchase.

currently have a rebel with a 18-55 and a 75-300 telephoto zoom lens. i get a lot of landscape and nature/wildlife shots with my wandering ways. as far as $$$, not really sure how much i want to put down - don't really know enough about what i should be trying to get for the money.

love using the film but feel like im getting left behind

depending on which film body your used to, i would probably recommend a 20/30/40d depending on your budget. a xti/xsi is going to feel too small and cramped after using a full sized film body. you have a 18-55mm lens on a 35mm rebel? i thought that was an ef-s lens that wouldn't work on a 35mm/full frame camera body.

buy a used 10D, or 20D and spend the rest on quality glass.

from what I have read, the 40D is/was a better deal with the rebate, not alot more money.

it can get scary cant it. but for sure, the more you spend the better stuff you will get. i would avoid anything sigma but the 105 macro.
