I'm new to the mobile scene, and I was wondering if I'd be able to build a notebook. I mean, the only components of a laptop I've been able to find for purchase are RAM, video cards, and processors. Does anyone know where I can find motherboards and laptop cases?

If doing this is possible, it'd be a big help if someone could help list some parts to build a new mobile system, including these parts:

    AMD Mobile Athlon XP 2500+
    ATI Radeon 9600 Mobile
    Crucial 512MB DDR333 SO-DIMM

    Thanks.

I've never heard of buying a laptop case, but there are some places that will custom-configure a non-brand-name laptop for you.

Asus and a few other makers have been putting out barebones. I don't know if they manufacturer the mainboard, but if their desktop stuff is any indication, it's a good platform to build off of.

It's modular as well, so you can always throw in a faster CPU later. Dells and such will be obsolete, maybe..

Awesome. I recently heard about ASUS doing barebones, too. Sounds like that's the way I'm going to go. :)
