I've been toying with the idea of opening up a site for myself to showcase my art.

I'm kind of shooting in the dark here so what I'm looking for is something that I can use to display and also possibly sell my stuff through. I would also like to be able to update it with posts/information etc. Maybe something along the lines of a "portfolio" type of setup.

Any advice on where to start? ...getting traffic is a plus, but is really secondary to making it look clean and .

    Thanks for the help.

If you don't really know what you're doing, and would rather not shell out monies for a server, domain name, etc, you might want to just start a hosted wordpress blog. Totally free but you're limited to certain things.

I've always hosted wordpress myself so I'm not sure if it can be transferred over to your server later on or not.

I should look into that... so in theory I could mess around with it on wordpress then transfer it to my own domain?

WordPress is definitely one of the best ways to get started. Get some cool SEO addons and you'll be set for Google too! :big grin:
