I've had this car for about 7 months and I still love it but it needs new looks. Any suggestions on rims, body mods, etc...

Very nice car. I would have gotten the 6spd over SMG but that's just me. what are you looking to do Performance?? Looks??

Personaly I would start off with a nice exhaust for sound and a little power, then do a good cold air intake. Then move to rims and suspention. With E46s it will be very costly to really get some power out of it so your stuck with bolt ons.

www.turnermotorsports.com I have delt with them for years always great service and the products are top notch.

Just curious...what sort of gains do E46 M3's get from bolt-ons?

I know E36 M3's get very little bang for the buck with bolt-on mods.

Good CSL replica stuff is made by Vorsteiner.

Turner is also a great place to start. (I think they also have some CSL replica stuff.)

Please don't get HRE of iForged wheels. They are good looking, and fine for show cars, but under intense conditions they will fail. This is why they are banned at almost all tracks.

BBS, however, makes quality wheels. Also, Turner sells excellent CSL replica wheels.

Chip+Intake+Exhaust should be good for 20-25 hp.

That's if you choose quality parts, like Gruppe-M intake, Supersprint Exhaust (just catback), and a Shark Injector or similar software. But all of this would cost almost $2k.

My car has had no front plate for almost 3 years, and no cops in IL have ever hassled me about it. A lot of M3 owners will ditch that the holder and ziptie it to the lower grille to mantain a decent looking front end.

I've never had a front plate on my cars, and in 6 years I've never gotten a ticket either. But if someone doesnt want to take the chance, then thats fine, but either put a plate on, or take the stupid holder off

I saw an identical car to yours lowered about 2 inches and it had on at least 20" wheels. The wheels looked a little big for it, but the drop was AWESOME!

E46Fanatics is def. the place to go...Vorsteiner is #1 (by a long shot) as far as CSL parts go (bumpers, trunks, roofs, diffusers). Wheels- DPE, HRE, BBS, iforged...

Youre in Socal, i would purchase/install through lucent motors
    http://www.lucentmotor.com/

i would ditch the front plate, swap out the amber for painted reflectors, add cf kidney and side grills. it would really clean up the front end :bigthumb:

The comment was in regards to whether e46's can get power from boltons or not. Not whether they can get good bang for the buck power.
I think its quite obvious no bmw can get truly good bang for the buck power. Small market = expensive aftermarket
