I have no idea what a good laptop brand/processor combination is. I'm looking to spend around $1600 at most... Any suggestions?

what are you going to be using the laptop for? does it require long battery life? or no?

I'll be using it for general use and some gaming. Battery life isn't too big of a concern because I will have it on my desk plugged in most of the time but some battery life would be nice if I decide to take it with me somewhere.

I'd suggest the Dell 9100. If you're looking for a notebook that's slim and lightweight, this isn't it. But, that shouldn't matter if it's primary use is to replace a desktop. Plus, you can get one that's nicely equipped for about $1600.

That's exactly what I've been looking at so far, I was just wondering what other desktop replacements are out there but so far I haven't found anything comparable to it for the same price. Good to know that I'm not looking at something that's horrible. :bigthumb:
