I live in Saugus, MA and i've heard of police chiefs not wanting to give those permit applications out but what right do they have to deny someone based on looks alone? I'm a law abiding citizen i have no record and i've never had any trouble with the law, i want to express my 2nd amendment right to bare arms. and i just wanna know what to expect when i walk into the police station asking for the permit application. If they give me shit saying they don't give them out what would I say to them? I know legally they have to and they might say it to scare the people not serious about it but I really am. Can someone offer some advice? Thanks

its a CCW, but a guy i work with called it a class a license to carry concealed, so im guessing they are the same. I know you have to take a weapon safety course, but just wanted to know wut else to expect.

This is needed if I want a CCW, I never carry a large sum of money, but I do work in a less then safe neighborhood overnight would that reason alone be ok you think? I know it says "High risk area's" but im not sure if a shitty city would fall under that description.. anyone from mass here w/ their ccw that can offer any tips?

I live in Mass as well and my town was marked as red or whatever on packing.org.

Mass. no longer allows you to simply put "for all lawful purposes" for reason for applying :(

I'm 21, in the Army Reserve, and even I don't feel like going in and getting rejected. I don't see anyway the chief would give me a Class A LTC based on the requirements; I don't carry large sums, I don't have a dangerous job. :sadwavey:

I could probably land a Class B which lets you have a pistol but you can't carry it concealed or loaded for that matter. You need one just to get an AR-15 :greddy:

Anyways, from what I could pull from the info, there is a $100 license fee which isn't refunded if you get denied FTL :ugh: So I figured I'd wait another year or 2 before I went to get one, by then I'll be active duty.

I go to school in VT which allows you to carry concealed without a license of any sort, but I can't legally store the firearm in my dorm :hs:

I would say working in a shitty neighborhood on the graveyard shift meets both the high-risk areas and high-risk times requirement.

If you were forced to report an attempted carjacking or some such that would probably also boost a reasonable fear application a few weeks down the road. :o

See if the police dept on campus holds firearms for students. Mine did it for shotguns and rifles for the purposes of hunting, but they would hold it for anyone, regardless if they hunted

tried. its a military school and we sleep with m14's in our rooms, firing pins removed. there have been some incidences though and outside weapons are a no-no.
