I've been in the WOMD sub forum for some time now and listening to peoples opinions..and sure enough, OT generally comes out on top

I have heard good and bad things about atlantic. I personally would say to get either a vector or arsenal AK.

prob go with a fixed stock, second choice would be a side fold.

i would prefer a milled over the stamped.

    no budget in mind.

based on what you said, vector and arsenal are the only options really.

yea i've been looking for the past hour, and i think those are the only 2 companies i would go with.

do you know if ordering directly from them is better than ordering from an online vendor? any pros or cons?

well if you can even order directly.

no idea. My AK was smith built, so I really am not sure about how to order from arsenal/vector.

Atlantic has like a 5 year warrenty I think on most of their rifles.

    http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/programming/expand.asp?Prodid=275

I'd probably go with something like that, it seems like a lot of money for an AK but if you don't mind paying that much for it then go ahead, I'm sure it's worth it. Another option would be to find a local AK builder and see if they will help you out. You can build a great rifle for around $200 that way.

Get a 5.45x39. 7.62 is way to pricey these days. I have an SLR-105 and love it.

5.45 isn't all that much cheaper if you get anything other than crappy milsurp :dunno:

My Bulgarian milsurp shoots better than the Wolf I've put through it.

Fuck that corrosive bs, we put 2000 rounds through a friends FA krink we built about amonth ago and it's never been cleaned since then. No rust or malfunctions.

I dunno what the deal was but I've had two failures to fire when I was using wolf. And after maybe 1500 rounds through my Tantal, no problems with Bulgarian or Russian surplus.

Century arms has Bulgarian steelcore on sale right now. 1080rds for $119. Sale ends in TWO days though. The shipping is only $12.95 for up to $500. Free shipping for $500 and over. Damn good deal.

The "month long" sale has been going on for the last 6 months. I'd be surprised if it didn't continue onto next month.
