But I'm needing some suggestions for a good brand / monitor.

Price doesn't matter but prefer if it's LCD to be a 19" since it's cheaper.

Basically I've been through two monitors in two years cause I bought shitty ones that were cheap so I need some ideas on quality! :p

Dot-Pitch and high color definitions are a must since it will be used for art.

I'm loving my Samsung 997DFs (bought two of them in the fall). I bet they make a simliar 21" monitor if you want a bigger one.

All the art people I know use CRTs since they still have closer color matching than LCDs do.

I just got the same Samsung 997DF-T/T and I'm loving it
I switched to it from a Dell 15" that was fading.

Don't tell an apple sack-rider that :mamoru:

(btw, I agree that CRT's have better color-matching... But a good LCD is more than fine for even professional graphic design)

actually I've heard complaints regarding a down-fall in LCD quality... probably related to the decrease in their prices (still to high).

my impression of 19" lcds is that they are a waste since 99% of them offer the same exact native resolution as 17" lcd.

on the contrary... the 19" LCD, although having the same resolution as many 17" LCDs, provides a bigger picture... things are easier to see and read. I would never buy a 17" LCD. I love my 19"ers.

I decided to get the samsung monitor because of the extreme .20 dot pitch and the price was fairly decent as well as other reviews I read about it ;)

    thanks everyone
