looking into upgrading video card... but

    what card should i get?

    geforce 4 4800 ?
    radeon 9700 or 9700 Pro?

    im totally clueless what i should get...

    i've looked at diff sites, but i swear everyones got diff reviews.

    ohhhh great...here we go again.

    everybody has a different opinion on this subject. You should first wait for the new radeon & geforce because then those cards you are looking at will drop significantly in price. As far as which to chose it's 50/50 Some people are diehard ATI and some are diehard nvidia. I personally have always gone with ATI because "most" benchmarks show that the 9700pro is superior in a lot of demanding games. You'll hear a lot about "driver support" though. If you are an idiot and don't know how to install and do driver updates then get nvidia.

    It seems to me that most of the current benchmarks show the 9700 Pro over the 4800, especially when you turn up the effects. The 9700 Pro really seems to be the better performing card, but I agree that you should wait for the new cards to come out so you can take advantage of the price drops on these ones.
