Bushmaster. Great company and I like what they've done with the ACR.

5.56/.223 is 5.56 AND .223, its basically the same thing but 5.56 has more pressure or something like that. 5.56 will shoot .223 as well, .223 only will not shoot 5.56. Same size, loaded different.

Bushmaster. Terrible company making barely better than a bargain basement AR but trying to price them at Colt levels. Don't get me started on the ACR. Coming out at nearly double the price that was expected you are getting a non-chrome lined 1 x 9 twist barrel chambered in 223 with a handful of cheap magpul accessories. MW2 fanboys eat your heart out.

Most people wont need a 1x7 twist barrel like the special forces use. Even then its user changeable. Price is in line with top tier AR's.

So all this chart really did for me is tell me that I should buy a Colt cause it is the best out there. Not really in my price range right now. All I really wanted was some opinions on decent optics ready starter ARs. I can always upgrade later but right now I just want something that I can upgrade a little bit down the road. Maybe move up into the nice more expensive ones down the road.

You're not going to beat the cmmg bargain bin for pice/performance... unless you do something like a sharps lower and LMT upper (pm THT for some great prices on parts).

So, I think it will be a CMMG Bargain Bin. Optics ready and reasonable price. Don't need to much more to get one.

If you can find a good deal on the optics ready M&P15 I think it's a great starting point.

it is, dpixel8 might be talking about the lack of a rear sight. which isnt a huge deal if you're getting an optic right away. or just get a magpul mbus for $40.
