looking for wireless router

    i need a new wireless router for my home. it needs to be able to reach up one floor (pretty short distance) and i want excellent signal strength on that upstairs comp (router is downstairs). i dont want to spend more then 60$, what router can u recommend that u know will be dependable and not drop the signal all the time. it can be G or Super G, i dont give a shit

    alright thats what i figured youd recommend. what about the G or Xtreme G from D link are those any good?? and is there any difference between a PCI or USB wireless adapter for the pc?

    i've used a dlink di-524 without issues, no clue about any "G" "Xtreme G" products from them. The di-524 is 802.11g.

    PCI or USB adapter should not matter if your computer does not have wireless built in. Probably buy whichever is cheaper.

    i bought the 524 and installed...it works perfectly. download speeds are 20% slower then on ethernet but w/e. the price was right

    I believe the only advantage between the G and Super G with most brands is that the super G will have more flash memory, which won't help your signal or speed strength. I think the only time you will ever notice speed difference from a G or super G is on data transfers on the network.

    I have used a all in one 604T dlink works fine.
