I'm in the market for a handgun. It needs to be under $900, be a good carry gun, and also be a good target gun. Those last two seem to really be conflicting with each other.

I am going to get a CCW in a year and a half. My dad is a chair person at a local range or whatever and runs the handgun tourneys and I'm going to be competing in them mostly for fun, but I want this firearm to be capable of both. As of right now I'm looking at sigs and glocks, but I was wondering what you guys recommend.

    Thanks as always.

for 900 you can get a used glock 26 for carry AND a 5" XD 9mm for competition and still have money left over for a trigger job on the XD..you might need to shop around, but it's DEFINITELY doable.

Glock 19 or 26 depending on the size of your hand.

My hand fits best around a single stack, but a double stack is fine too. I've looked at glocks and sigs, but I still haven't looked at a walther. I'm personally leaning towards a 229 atm, but there are still so many options.

Get whatever fits your hand best. A sig 239 works very well for alot of people with smaller hands.

If $900 is your range, then you could get a set. Get a Glock or XD Sub Compact and a Service/Tactical. If you go with 9mm or 40 the mags would be interchangabe and you would have one for carry and one for range.
