I’m looking for a few cds or artists that have a certain sound to them. What I want is something along the lines of the sound track from queen of the damn or faith and the muse.

A nice strong violin would be nice, with a cello, and flute with a soul filled voice would be just wonderful.

And no enya, yani, or enigma. Don’t need that for this project its to happy Looking for something much darker in sound or mourn full.

    Thanks.

PIL is NOT anywere close to being gothic or darkwave. You could get slapped for that in the wrong place! :eek3:

anyway looks like most of the basics are already covered.

also try more on the electronic industrial side

    Cyber Axis - Skin
    Diatribe - Diatribe
    Beborn Beton - Truth
    Bella Morte - (any album)
Assemblage 23 - Disapoint (remixes) or Contempt
    VNV Nation - Empires
Covenant - Theremin or United States of Mind
    Fictional - Ficticious
    Project Pitchfork - (any album)
    Forma Tadre - Navigator
Skinny Puppy - 12" Anthology, and also Rabies

if your looking on more melodic or rock orieted stuff

Gene Loves Jezebel - Voodoo Dollies
    The Damned - Phantasmagoria
    The Church - Starfish
Christian Death - Only Theater of Pain
    Peter Murphy - Deep
Sisters of Mercy - "First and Last and Always", and also "Floodland" both are essential
The Mission - No Grave Concern for Repercussion
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Twice upon a Time, the singles

if you have any questions let me know, you can also download alot of this from me if you use SoulSeek, my screen name is DCPunker

shit almost forgot about "Love and Rockets", and also "Feotus", both good bands.

I went through my cd collection today and saw basically each one of these artists, I don't listen to industrial/goth/darkwave hardly at all anymore :(

Although I would consider dimmu borgir more black metal or whatever, they do have a few instrumental songs w/all violins in the foreground which are pretty "goth"-ish.

check "fear and wonder" , "perfection or Vanity"
