    i'm 27, i'm 6'0'', 176lbs, little soft around the mid section :hs:

i'm a lawyer with a commute and a girlfriend, so i'm real short on time.
i'm a prosecutor, so i'm also real short on money.

so the gym isn't something i can do any more, and bad food is way cheaper than good food.

it was one thing when i was single, in college and i had time for the gym and buddies to work out with, and enough money to spend more than $10 a day on a healthy lunch. now everyone i know is either married or working 80 hour weeks...everyone is putting on weight, eating crap every day for lunch.

honestly, how do you stay in shape?

The best way to do it is stop finding reasons why you can't do it and start finding ways TO do it. You did lawschool so I'm sure you can figure it out. Read the stickies. Eating healthy is NOT HARD TO DO.

Whenever I try to make an excuse about not wanting to do something (like right now, where its 8am on a sunday and im putting gear in my gym bag to go to jiu jitsu) I watch one of a few videos/speeches and tell myself that if I can listen to the whole thing and still convince myself not to go, I won't.

Barring closure of the gym, I've never convinced myself.

this is by far my favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rFx6OFooCs

This is quite simply untrue. If that's your outlook then you obviously haven't researched or learned good eating habits, because there is no cost difference between eating healthy and eating poorly, save your protein needs.
