I want to put together a reasonable exercise program for my wife and I to do together. She's 48, 5'3", 112 lbs. She's in reasonable shape, just needs to firm up/tone a few areas (mainly da butt (albeit it's not bad for an old lady ) and some toning for the arms/legs. She has very high arches, so running is out of the question. I'm about to be 46. 5'9", 163 lbs. I've been recumbent spinning for a couple of months and doing some light lifting (dumbells, curl bar, tricep bar). First I want to lose the fat (10-15 lbs) and do some toning. Once that's done, I want to maintain the tone and add some muscle mass. I will start doing a short run in the AM in a couple of weeks. The best time of day for us to work out together is in the evenings (I leave for work very early...i.e., she'd have to get up very early, work out and then go back to bed). What do you suggest?
