Looking for something for mostly night shots. I hear go with DV type and stay away from DVD and HD is just not worth it. Going to be used for car action type stuff..

Most camcorders won't have very good night recording unless its the green shit that sony does.

DV, DVD, Hard Drive (HDD), are all just methods of storing the video. DV is the least convenient, HDD the most, but also the most prone to break.

You can also get camcorder to store on SD cards. That is what I would buy right now. They are convenient, reusable, cheap, and probably less likely to break down than the HDD camcorder.

The difference between that and hf100 is the internal 16GB memory?

just the dual memory storage, and 200 bucks.

I opted for the hf10, because if i do some paparazzi work (usually unseen) and get caught i usually just give them the memory card (i act like a tourist that didnt know what i was doing), when really the footage is in the camera. and ITS BLACK!

Will not be mounted on the car. Mostly for some night action on the interstate or at the track. I've heard good things about the 2007 sony hcr96?

Red is supposed to have their new, "affordable", HD camera out this fall for about $3,000.

Save your money on the current consumer HD cameras out there.

This is for personal/play use. Nothing professional. Don't want to spend 3k.. Looking at most 800
