I have a 10/22 but I am looking for something else a little bigger. I have been looking at the AR-15 and copies (or whatever you would call them) and AK-47 and copies. Any specific companies to avoid or buy from? Any suggestions on a rifle? thanks :x:

I have a Romanian AK-47 with a dragunov stock, it's pretty damned fun to shoot but I couldn't tell ya where to buy an AK because I got it at a gun show : /

if you want to just go out and have fun at the range, definitely consider an AK. the ammo is only $80 for 1000 rounds and the guns themselves can be found everywhere for about $350-$500. www.atlanticfirearms.com has a decent selection of AK's so you can get a fair idea of what you'll be getting

What are you doing with it?

For punching holes in paper I vote AR. It'll be more accurate.

For shooting random stuff, AK, Cheaper ammo

u can put together an AR for about 350 bucks if you really do your shopping. go to www.ar15.com and look through the equipment exchange for good deals. I'd recommend a cheap A1 upper receiver, stripped lower, lower parts kit, and other little random parts.

You can build an AR15 for 350 dollars that uses all new parts?

I would love to find that shopping list. Are we talking decent parts? and are they new parts you are referring to?

i just want something to mess around with, although i would like more accuracy, so it seems like the AR is the best option :dunno: so what are some good places to get ARs and parts?
