Is Tamron a good brand?
How wide do you want
Whats wrong with the 18-55
What's your Budget
Tamron is a good brand, but this doesn't mean all their lenses are good.
Recommendations for what?
What kind of stuff do you shoot?
What kind of range are you looking at?
What is your budget?
What camera are you shooting with?
What lenses do you currently have?
I've been dissapointed by sigmas. :-/
the 24-70 is slooooow
the 24-60 ex is pretty sweet though. Took pretty clear pics!!!
zenitar 16mm fisheye
Tamaron>Sigma but ultrasonic factory lenses are the way forward.
not sharp until stopped down to f/4 or smaller
fisheye distortion (requires removal in post or.. well, no removal )
how wide do you want to go? i have the tamron 17-35 and love it.
I have the 10-22 EF-S
but its a bit pricey
I've had bad experiences with sigma. Their lenses are good, but the 2.8 lenses aren't optimal at f2.8
I like to have a usable 2.8 to control DOF on my pics.
You're probably experiencing thin DOF caused by opening your aperture up, which happens to all lenses at f/2.8
You might have purchased a bad copy of the lens
nono. I know about the thin DOF. I am just used to using Nikon wide angles and was dissapointed with the difference.
my old camera was a nikon n90 that was a hand me down from my dad.
Let's see your shots with it
It is a great lens, who gives a shit that it is slow, at 10mm you can hand hold it at 1/15 easily.
It has MASSIVE DOF at 6.3!
I love mine, it has basically stayed on my cam since I got it
