I'm looking for a video that was posted about a month ago. It's the one where a 170-180lb olympic lifter is doing snatches, and at the end he power cleans like 350lbs and walks the weight over to a squat rack. It was impressive. Looked through 20 pages and couldn't find it. What I'm really after are videos showing power clean technique. I already found a few through google, but I need more. I want to start power cleaning again. Last time was 10 years ago, back in HS. Thinking back, I had sorry form i.e) spreading my legs too far apart during the part of the exercise. Also, at the end of the exercise, I can't seem to get my elbows up to shoulder level. I don't think I have the flexibility to get my elbows up while still having the bar rest on my shoulders. Even with just the bar, I can't get it to where my elbows are up. The position I end up in is almost like the starting position of a military press. My elbows are beside my body pointing toward the ground. What gives? Thanks.

Thanks! That's the one. Any advice on my elbows/hands? I noticed that Dimas' elbows are pretty low too at the end of the exercise.

My advice is you learn the original clean, snatch and etc.. before you go to the power movements. Most of the time when people learn the power versions of the lift first they tend to have horrible technique. Also if you want to practice holding the bar in a clean position just get an olympic bar and rack it as you would a clean.Do timed holds with the bar like that and eventually move onto light front squats with it.

Hang Cleans...I've gotten pretty good trap development from hangcleans. I have alot of respect for people that have good form on cleans...Elbows up, front squat the weight up...Excellent for football players.

So this would be a squat clean and not a power clean?

usually called full cleans or just clean, power clean is considered without dropping under parallel but the goal is to not drop at all.

Yeah for some reason most people I've seen don't know the difference in cleans so to make it easier its a squat clean.I believe Coach Hatch calls it squat cleans too.
