I need to get a travel case for my pistol, and was wondering are there specific brands I should stay away from or are they pretty much the same?

I'm looking for one that can hold 2 pistols easily, and has a combination lock instead of a key lock. The combination lock is very important to me.

if it is for air travel it has to be FAA certified. any quality case will be advertised as "FAA Certified".

    Quoted for truth.

I've got a 1720, to hold my carbine & 2 pistols. They have smaller ones, if you're only going to carry pistols, but for my money, nothing beats a pelican case.

Forgot to add that Starlight makes a sweet case as well. Here's mine before I modified it to carry some mags, too. Yeah, it's kinda big for pistols, but I think they make smaller...

Also check with the airline. Some will allow you to carry more than 1 firearm per case, but some require each firearm have it's own individual case. Also you have to remember if you take ammunition, it has it's own case as well.

OK so we've got make sure it's an FAA certified case, and make sure you travel with ammo in a seperate case.

I've been checking out the pelican cases and they seem nice. I'm looking for one that has a built in combonation lock though if possible.
