Ok guys im looking for a smaller truck, I'd be usuing this to mainly to haul my race quad to the track, and a daily driver. I thought about getting a car and a small trailer but dont want to hassle with it, and truck would be much more useable for what i do. I dont plan on doing any major offroading, but i just might end up there :naughty:. I what ever I get it has to be a manual, and I want a ext cab for room for audio shit and or extra room. Ive searched around this forum and i think maybe a s10 or some toyota but I dont really have any ideas on where to go. Im not dead set on any truck or anything like that, just want some good and reliable (sp). So what should I be looking at? And whats a good price? I have family members that I can go to dealer auctions so i can probally find a good price. Thanks in advance.

Can't go wrong with a Tacoma, very reliable rugged little trucks. S10 would be my next choice, the 4.3 is a solid motor.

    I'd go Frontier or T10/T15 ZR2.

2004 and older tacos are good trucks -- but they're expensive in the used market.

The Frontier provides all the perks of the Tacoma at a lesser cost, imo.

For the money (cheap) the T10/T15 ZR2 is a great truck. If you want the most for the dollar, this may be for you.

So I'd say T10/T15 or Frontier, depending on your domestic/import tastes. Frontier Crew Cab Long Box with the roof rack is HAWT.

Ok thanks. Now my question is there anything to look for or avoid in these? Like in the atv world the 04 yamaha 450s had electrical problems, anything like this ( general bugs and shit) in any of these? And im looking to get a good truck at a good price, keep in mind that i race atvs and that alone is expensive. I mean race gas is over 5.25 a gallon.

well, what's your budget? For example, what'd I'd get with less than $5k would be different than what I'd get with $15k.

if you're limited to that budget, you'll be hard pressed to beat the value you get in a 1999 T10/T15 ZR2

Yah im pretty limited on the cash flow as of know. I need more hours at work and with racing, the money seems to go as fast as it came :eek4: .I was thinking maybe I could pick up a older Honda car and a trailer for cheap and save up some cash to get a newer nicer truck. Heres a pic of my money pit, so far got about 10-11 k into it.

    I'm in on the S10 (or T-series, it's the 4x4 classification for the S-series). I've got an 85 S10 ext cab that's about to roll 268,000 miles.
