Which of these two lenses would you guys recommend? or any other comparable lens in the $200-300 range. My mother and father are going on vacation to Europe in a few months and I want to get a new lens for them to take on the trip.

on my trips, I tend to use the Tokina 12-24 more than any other lens. I'd suggest getting them a wide angle over a telephoto lens.

I'm kinda in the same boat but leaning towards the tamron 17-50 I don't think the 24 or 28 will be wide enough :hs:

I have the 28 and it is wide enough for most things but I do find myself looking for that extra 10mm which I lost when I sold my kit 18-70mm lens.

Damn it, I should have checked back on my own thread. :hs: Anyway, I was looking through Circuit City's website and saw that they sell Canon lenses. I have $150 in CC gift cards. How are the 28-105 and 28-135, or is there anything else on their site that I should consider?

    http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Lenses-Filters/sem/rpsm/catOid/-13085/N/20013061+20013066+20013068+20013085+40000857/rpem/ccd/categorylist.do

    28-105 is $299 - $150 = $150
    28-135 is $493 - $150 = $343

BH has the 105 for $230 and the 135 for $410.
