Just bought a house and I want to setup a nice TV and home theater setup. For the TV and Home Theater alone I would like to spend $4k or less. I would like to hang the TV on the wall if it matters.

I have been out of the loop for a few years so I have no idea.

    Thanks!

2K on the tv and 2K on the home theater

Panasonic plasma and the rest should give you enough to pick up a fairly decent home theater

when i did mine i bought the 2k panny.. but I didn't even spend half that on audio and I love it to death. You'll spend probably another $100 on wires then a few more for the wallmount.

You could get a damn good (IMO) audio setup for a grand or just over :dunno:

Just go into the stores and listen to all the different setups they have, and piece together your own setup based on the speakers you want.

for that tight ass budget, this is the best you gonna get:

    tv: pioneer kuro 5080hd $1800
    speakers: av123 x-series $700
    sub: epik knight $600
    rx: yamaha 1800 or denon 2808 $800
wires: monoprice for video, bluejeanscable for audio...~$150

I'd use the package builder at edesginaudio.com for your speakers.
Use the a6 6t6 mtms all around, and the 5t5 for the center channel with an a3 300 sub and you're looking at 1100 for the speakers.

Would you suggest that TV or the Pioneer 5010?

of course the 5010, but that will blow your budget out of the water....but if you can swing it, absolutely

Already ordered the 5010 and it was less than $3,300 shipped so that leaves me $1,700 for audio.

    did you fail math?

    3300 + 1700 = 5000

    just a wee bit over 4k :o
