I need expertise here, this is what I'm doing.

I have a 35 mm Minolta XG-M. The body will not advance the shutter any longer. I have two excellent pieces of glass for it (all manual lens) and I'd like to use them. Yes, fully manual focus and aperture adjustment will be a result. I'd like to convert to EF mount for my XTI.

I'm seeing all kinds of MD to EF adapters, and I don't know exactly what I'm looking for (optical or non optical)

Anyone work in a camera store that sells these?

Basically I do not mind using a fully manual lens on my camera - as sometimes you can get a very very nice lens for about a hundred bucks.

I'll sell you a nearly mint XG-M body and motor drive along with four lenses for the low, low price of $150.

    24mm f/2.8
    50mm f/1.7
    135mm f/3.5
    400mm f5.6

All lenses are Minolta rokkor except for the 400. It's a Vivitar in excellent condition. The motor drive works perfectly. The body was resealed about two years ago and works perfectly.

this pic was shot with the 400

jesus that 400 on a 1.6 crop body... that's something like 600 mm or so. From what I've read, the MD to EF adapter without optics makes anything other than macro useless, and the one with the optics severely degrades optical quality. Hmm. I just checked, I have a sigma 35 to 70 and Vivitar 70 to 210 in an FD mount. The body is not so much what I'm interested in, as much as converting those successfully to manual focus EF mount. Which, seems like a bust.
