The Sony Vaio looks decent. may i ask why you need a good videocard? If your using it for school, etc look you shouldn't need anything larger.

I have a Sony Vaio laptop that is almost 6 years old and its still running with almost no problems (dead battery and one of the hinges on the screen is broke) . I'd buy one again for sure.

you will not find a small notebook that can play games well, but still be light and have good battery life. Those are oxymorons. A few companies (like IBM) have a model that does these things, but pull out a second mortgage, because they're pricey.

Personally, I'd get the Asus M5N. You simply cannot beat it. My only gripe is a relatively low screen resolution (1024x768) but that's common in this class of notebook. Considering that a well-equipped model can be had for less than $1400, it's an awsome deal:

    Pentium M 1.6GHz 2MB Cache
    40GB 5400RPM 16MB Buffer
    768MB PC-2700 RAM (Kingston/Corsair)
    Windows XP Professional
    Carrying Bag

Whatever you do, get a good notebook. Sony just has never produced a good notebook, imo.

    I recently purchased a Sager 3790-S from http://www.pctorque.com
It'll blow a Dell 600m/700m away in the graphics department, as well as everything else.

mostly I've had bad luck with sager. Cheaply made, heavy, poor battery life, and very generic.
