It doesn't have to be anything special, just gonna be used for just AIM, PokerStars, Web browsing and some multi-media stuff like listening to music and watching DVDs.

Doesn't need to have a nice video card or anything cause I won't be doing any gaming on it really.

Don't need a DVD Burner or anything cause I have it on my Desktop so thats fine. Harddive doesn't really need to be larger than 50GB.

How much do you think something this not so special laptop will run me? :hs: I don't wanna pay alot really. Cheapest thing Dell has is $700 but :dunno:

Google Dell coupons and see if you can find anything cheaper.

I just bought a Dell, and I couldn't be more happy with it. From my experience, it's probably the cheapest brand you can buy without sacrificing quality.

I know last month, before Christmas, I got my Inspiron on a really good deal, it would've been around $1500 normally, but the coupon I used dropped the price to right at a grand.

And if you're talking about the first CounterStrike, just about any computer nowadays is plenty fast enough to run it.

If you are at a University or College, check with the IT department. They usually have deals for students.

512 of RAM is pushing the limit. I'd definitely get something higher, preferably with at least a gig of RAM.

The only problem with getting a laptop with a gig of ram already in the laptop is that it will put it outside the price range and you can put in another 512 yourself for about half of the price that it adds on to the laptop when you get it with the laptop.
