Looking for a good weight gaining supplement...

    I want to gain some weight before I start going back to the gym in a few weeks. I recently had surgery and lost a little weight and havent been able to do much of anything physical. Im going to take NO Xplode once I start lifting but before I do I would like to put the pounds back on that I lost and then some. Right now I am 6'1 165.

    Basically I am looking for a good weight gaining supplement with no flavor. Ive tried Vanilla and chocolate and I just cant get that shit down. Call me a pussy but I'd rather drink a flaming vodka mixed with bleach then try to get that powdered vanilla shit down.

    Food is great. There are hundreds of millions of people around the world putting on weight with only food so it must be working, it's even working too well.

    You can probably buy bulk plain whey protein powder from trueprotein.com or allthewhey.com, choose to put some sort of sugar/carb in it for more cals and to mask the probably not awesome taste. Dunno why you can't go with food though.

    Well if you want your protein powder to have as many calories as your weight gainer poor a bunch of sugar in it and there you go, it will have about the same effect. weight gainers are useless, use real food.

    My favorite whey is ON whey, or muscle milk. Muscle milk is higher in fat. (about 15g per serving) but its delicious. Every "No Flavor" protien Ive tasted taste horrible.

    I know protein powder is probably not enough, you can add some sort of carb in your protein powder at trueprotein.com if you want and a whole bunch of stuff too. You can customize you own MRP/weight gainer so that it is a bit better than what you get in stores. Maybe a slow digesting carb + casein or milk protein blend (which was found to help gain muscle mass more than whey or casein alone).

    I know you said you dont like the taste... but give this a try... order the Vanilla and add 2-3 spoon full of PB to every shake with milk. I felt the same way about the tatse of all weight gainers/whey drinks until I tried this combo. This stuff is actually not bad though... turns into a pretty tasty almost milk shake like drink.

    Also, if you're a average size guy dont try a full serving (2 scoops)... you'll puke it back up. Anywhere in the 150-200 pound range should stick to half a scoop to one scoop per shake.

    Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup: Combine 24 oz. milk, 2 heaping scoops of Chocolate Serious Mass 4 tbsp. of peanut butter, and 1/2 cup of chocolate or vanilla ice cream in a large blender. Mix for 45 to 60 seconds at highest speed until smooth. Enjoy!

    Vanilla Nut Dream: Combine 24 oz. milk, 2 heaping scoops of Vanilla Serious Mass, 2 oz. chopped almonds, 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream, and 1 tsp. vanilla extract in a large blender. Mix for 45 to 60 seconds at highest speed until smooth. Drink Up!

    Strawberry Colada: Combine 24 oz. milk, 2 heaping scoops of Strawberry Serious Mass, 1 ripe banana, 1/4 cup shredded coconut, and 1/2 cup frozen strawberries in a large blender. Mix for 45 to 60 seconds at highest speed until smooth. Indulge!

    Hmm I'll have to give it a try. I need all the extra calories I can get out here. Seems fairly cheap as well.. I bought some wieght gainer awhile back but the shit was as thick, or thicker than syrup, and was a pain in the ass to get down..
