I need a REAL web development company to do some work for me. I mean no offense to guys making great sites on their own, but I have a pretty big project and I need it yesterday.

I am thinking it will involve intensive flash development, as well at the development of a community website.

Has anyone had any luck with any particular web firms that can handle large, complicated projects?

I don't know the company's website, but kingtoad on here works for a very good development firm in LA. He may slap me for this plug, but by any means.. what I've seen is very good shit. Shoot him a PM or something. I'll link him to this thread when I see him online. :o

yeah prepare to spend a ton of money, I got quoted $90,000 for a simple site, and that was the short end of the stick, the long end was $450,000. And no the site didn't involve any new technology or anything like that

no, but you'll pay out of the ass whenever you use a professional.

I picked up 3 guys from home depot but when they designed they used way too many bright colors, all these greens reds and whites.... so usually a professional is the better solution even though it's pricey

yeah you get what you pay for....+ in the long run its more or less equal anyways. Downtime, scaling etc.

well, obviously it's more than just "a simple site" if you were quoted between $90K-$450K :ugh:

its a big ass site yes, but what I meant is that there is no complicated technology needed to be built. No need to scrape the internet with robots, no need to process a ton of data, no mobile technology etc. Just a simple database driven site.
