I'm in the market for a Digital Rebel but I've been having rotten luck finding a good site to purchase from. I'd like to get the best price possible considering I'm in college and have other expenses so my question is, what is a good site to purchase from with good prices?

since price is a concern.. maybe you can try to pick up a used one on ebay, they are selling for pretty good prices because the market it flooded with them from people getting rid of them to upgrade to the new 20d

Not quite. If I was baller, I'd get the 1DMK2.

I just want the black body, faster/better autofocus, larger images to allow cropping, quicker start up, ability to use a battery grip that will take AA, 2 additional focus points, AI servo that WORKS, lower noise at same ISO's, 5 fps, and PC sync for flash. All the other extras would be icing on the cake.

I still  the rebel, but I wouldn't mind the 20D.

true.dat. I feel you. My main reasons for upgrading is I use a lot of 3rd party glass and the new focus system really helps make the glass feel more reasonable to use (my tamron feels like it has usm!!). The instant ON is very very..

VERY nice. The first time I picked one up and tapped the shutter button I was like.. "NO WAIT!?!?!?" It felt so rewarding it was nuts.

 to the Rebel though. Still a great camera. They're going for the price of some point and shoots (thats how much I sold mine for...) which opens up nuts deals for everyone. ;)

  get a clue noob :ugh:

in terms of 300D to D70, yes the CCD IS better than the CMOS
I think you have to have more than 39 posts to know what people do around here, you do not qualify

hell look at any magazine review, that should sort things out

he's only talking about image quality, not build and feature set. In terms of image quality, the 300D is slightly better. Do your homework first

Right, because you need more than 39 posts on an off-topic forum to know about photography. :ugh:

    1) was refering to who knows how to process RAW images :ugh:

    2) i have alrady answered that

    3) I see canon advertising in "reputable" magazines more than Nikon

    4) i'm sorry you feel that way

I have compared, meaning i have used BOTH, you obviously havn't, the D70 is by far better

    Ok lets....post up

-Noise levels are not higher, that is a myth
-It produces patterns correctly, learn how to use the camera
-color rendition is HORRIBLE compared to the D70, this is where OVERSATURATION comes into play, accuracy of the D70 is also by FAR better

you didnt make a single valid point, aside from CMOS > CCD in which i agree with you, except in the case

And if the CMOS is so much better, tell me why there are 300d users on this board with TONS of pixels out after such a short period of ownership? :ugh:

to add one more thing, the noise the D70 does produce, which is near 0...looks more like film grain, not blotchy "normal" noise
