Well im really thinking about getting a new vehicle.(the DSM gets me in too much trouble) I want it to be AWD or 4x4.. 6 or 8 cyl. Im looking for about a price range of $8000.

The vehicle i have been looking at has been 96-98 Land Rover Discovery. I really like it and its in my price range. What can you guys tell me about the Discovery? What other vehicle can you guys suggest? I want it to be reliable and i want it to look good.

Oh and not any FORDS or CHEVYS. Thanks.

I hope you have enough reserves to fix a Land Rover, because they are not cheap to fix.

Get an XJ. Cheap to buy, cheap to fix, and you can probably find a billion of them in your price range.

Land Rovers are generally pretty bad for reliability although my Range and my brothers Disco II haven't been bad (Other than O2 sensors going yearly)

    Don't Grand Cherokee's have bad tranny's?

No Chrysler engine ever made it into a Land Rover, however, later models of Discovery & Range Rover have a Ford engine or a BMW designed engine in them.

Only the newest Range Rover has the BMW engine. I don't think any other Land Rover has any Ford engines in it yet.
