Will probably buy used if I can get a good deal (unlikely). This will just be for cheap plinking and I may decide to get a suppressor (since it could be used for my GSG5 also).

Have looked at P22s and Mosquitos, but a lot of what I've seen is that the Ruger Mk3 is the best way to go? With the suppressor in mind, what are the best options - does that change anything?

Haven't shot the Ruger, but I've been very happy with my P22.
It's everything I'm looking for in a plinker, reliable, accurate, sights are good. Trigger is decent.

I'm also looking at magazine cost - apparently extra mosquito mags are $50??? wtf  That's right out.

The Ruger will have so many more aftermarket possibilities.

  7. I vote for the Ruger too. The quality is great, the price is reasonable, and the aftermarket is huge.

Sessy! You can literally hear the holes being made in the paper instead of the gun itself.

    I've been wanting a P22 and a P99 for so long...they're just sooo sexy.

Oh...and I'm now kinda wanting this when it comes out too.

Ruger Mk3 22/45 and put a Tactical Solutions Paclite on it.

    Don't even consider a Mosquito or a P22.

And let's be honest here, guys. A P22 with a Pilot on it is quiet, but, to say there's no ejection port bark or action noise is insulting everybody on this forum's intelligence.

I'm still really digging my Kadet...... I had a shit ton of 22LR stashed away, and I feel it's helped immensely with my grip and trigger control.

I gotta 22 conversion upper for a Sig 220 I'd let go if you have a frame.....

I don't have a ruger and I don't live in a state where I can own a suppressor anyway but my understanding is the upper receiver is the serialized part? If so I'd buy an internally suppressed upper. It'd look cool.

1 please. I don't care how much more it costs than a junky p22, it'd be worth it.

This is the sort of thing that would just be a fun range toy for me. I'd take a little performance hit for sessiness.

the John's Guns integral is probably bottom of the pack for me

I would rather have a TBA, SRT or Elite Iron.

An AAC Phoenix would be amazing but the chances of that happening are low.

That being said, I would rather have a muzzle can on a Ruger. Almost all .22LR integrals are heavily ported and bleed off much needed velocity that the .22LR doesn't have to spare in the interest of numbers.

    That's cool I guess.

Why not get an AWC Badlander, Gemtech Oasis or Serbu Siris then?

It's not going to be the quietest, most accurate, reliable or affordable, but, uh, if you just want it for how it looks, get that.
