I'm looking to get a rear tank bag for a 4-5 day excursion around TX on the new Speed Triple...currently looking at the Kriega US-40.

    http://www.matrixmotosports.com/products/kriega-us-30

Anyone have any experience with these? Do I need the 40-liters of the 40 or would a 30 liter suffice?

    40 liter: $220

    30 liter: $169

I don't have experience with those, but get the bigger one.

You can underfill a bigger bag and lash it down, but you can't overfill a smaller bag.

    Damn, that's really expensive.

A saddlemen TS3200 is only 99 bucks and 56 liters

for $259 you can get the smaller sport seat bag PLUS the sport saddlebags from www.saddlemen.com A full luggage set for a little more than just that seat bag.
I'd look around more. Save some money.

I ended up getting the Cortech tail bag and saddlebags. So far so good.

    Good choice
You really can't go wrong with Cortechs if you want to use them all the time and want them to last.
